Jeffry Lane Flake (born December 31, 1962) is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator from Arizona, a seat he was first elected to in 2012. A member of the Republican Party, he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013.
Flake was one of the bi-partisan "Gang of Eight" that pushed through a Senate immigration-reform bill in 2013. He is known as a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, but votes overwhelmingly in line with Trump's position. Flake announced on October 24, 2017, that he would not seek reelection in 2018. He became Arizona's senior U.S. Senator upon the death of John McCain.
