Valerie June Jarrett (née Bowman; born November 14, 1956) is an American government official and former businesswoman, who served as the senior advisor to the President of the United States and assistant to the president for public engagement and intergovernmental affairs in the Obama administration from January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017. Prior to that, she served as a co-chair of the Obama–Biden Transition Project.
