Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day where we read the summary of a popular Wikipedia page every day.

With 407,561 views on Monday, 28 May 2018 our article of the day is LeBron James.

LeBron Raymone James Sr. (; born December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA players of all-time, and many consider him the best. James has won three NBA championships, three NBA Finals MVP Awards, four NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, two Olympic gold medals, and is the all-time NBA playoff scoring leader. James' other NBA accomplishments include being a 14-time NBA All-Star, three-time All-Star Game MVP, 12-time All-NBA first team member, five-time All-Defensive first team member, and winning a NBA scoring title and a NBA Rookie of the Year Award.

James played basketball at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, where he was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar. After high school, he entered the 2003 NBA draft and was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick. After entering the NBA, James quickly rose to superstar status which was met with lofty championship goals from media and fans alike. In 2010, he left the Cavaliers as a free agent for the Miami Heat that was announced in an ESPN special titled The Decision. This was one of the most controversial free agent decisions in all of American sports history. James would eventually win his first NBA championship in 2012 and then won another in 2013. In 2014, James opted out of his contract after four seasons with the Heat and signed back with the Cavaliers. In 2016, James and the Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors to win Cleveland's first NBA championship and end the city's 52-year professional sports title drought.
