The company offers its software for various market segments, such as loans, securities, derivatives, and foreign exchange. It serves various customers, including banks, dealers, exchanges, central securities depositories, custodians, central clearing counterparties, and other critical infrastructure providers worldwide. Digital Asset has strategic partnerships with Accenture, Broadridge, and PwC. The company was founded in 2014 and is based in New York, New York with additional offices in San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Budapest, and London.

In March 2015 the company appointed Blythe Masters as CEO.

In September 2015 the company software was used in the US$5 million initial public offering of Pivit, a gaming company.
