Ai Kume (久米 愛, Kume Ai, 7 July 1911 – 14 July 1976) was one of the first three women admitted to the bar in Japan; the three (also including Masako Nakata and Yoshiko Mibuchi) were all admitted in 1940.
In 1950 the Japan Women’s Bar Association was founded, with Ai Kume as one of its founding members. She was also its first president.
In 1960 she was interviewed by Beate Sirota Gordon for the Oral History Research Office of Columbia University.
She was also a delegate to the United Nations.
