Lil Tay (born July 29, 2007) is an American-born Canadian internet personality and child rapper. In 2018, while claiming to be 9 years old, she became famous online for a period of three months, proclaiming herself to be the "youngest flexer of the century". Her social media presence on Instagram and rap videos on YouTube attracted millions of views and followers, until they were abruptly wiped of content following allegations that she was coached to perform her actions on social media and that she never held control of her public identity. In August 2023 it was incorrectly reported that Tay had died based on a statement posted to her Instagram account. The statement has since been removed and replaced with a statement that Tay is alive.
