Joseph Robinette "Beau" Biden III (February 3, 1969 – May 30, 2015) was an American politician, attorney, and officer in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from Wilmington, Delaware. He was the eldest of three children from the marriage of former U. S. Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his first wife, Neilia Biden. He served as the Attorney General of Delaware and as a Major in the Delaware Army National Guard.
