Harvey Weinstein, (honorary) (born March 19, 1952) is an American film producer and former film studio executive. He is best known as co-founder of Miramax, which produced several popular independent films including Pulp Fiction, Clerks, The Crying Game, and Sex, Lies, and Videotape. He and his brother Bob were co-chairmen of The Weinstein Company, from 2005 to 2017 when he was fired by the board. He won an Academy Award for producing Shakespeare in Love, and garnered seven Tony Awards for producing a variety of winning plays and musicals, including The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County.
