Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (born Rachel Meghan Markle; August 4, 1981) is a member of the British royal family and an American former actress. Her husband, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex is the younger son of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales, and is sixth in the line of succession to the British throne.

Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in theatre and international studies in 2003, she played small roles in several American television series. From 2011 to 2018, she portrayed a main character, Rachel Zane, on the legal drama series Suits. Meghan's film credits include supporting roles in Remember Me and Horrible Bosses.

When she announced her engagement to Prince Harry, she also announced her retirement from acting. Upon her marriage on May 19, 2018, she became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.
