Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day where we read the summary of a popular Wikipedia page every day.

With 304,188 views on Sunday, 19 December 2021 our article of the day is Jake Paul.

Jake Joseph Paul (born January 17, 1997) is an American social media personality and professional boxer. He initially rose to fame on Vine, before playing the role of Dirk Mann on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark for two seasons. Throughout his career, Paul has become the subject of many controversies due to his behavior including engaging in risky stunts, sexually suggestive behavior, and featuring age-inappropriate material for YouTube, getting fired from Bizaardvark, and being charged with criminal trespass and unlawful assembly. Paul has also twice been accused of sexual assault. Paul's boxing career began in August 2018, when he defeated British YouTuber Deji Olatunji in an amateur contest via TKO in the fifth round. Turning professional, Paul beat the YouTuber AnEsonGib in January 2020, via TKO in the first round. Paul has since had three more fights—against retired basketballer Nate Robinson, retired mixed martial artist Ben Askren and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley—he remained victorious, for a 4–0 professional win–loss record. Paul was scheduled to fight the 7-0 boxer Tommy Fury in December 2021, in his fifth professional fight. On December 6, 2021, 12 days before their fight, Fury was forced to pull out of the fight due to an injury. Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley stepped in on the same day, for a rematch set for December 18, 2021, at the Amalie Arena, in Tampa, Florida. Paul won the rematch by KO in the 6th round.
